Friday April 12th was the deadline for those wanting to run for the Bar Harbor Town Council and Warrant Committee in the June 11th Municipal Election.

According to the Bar Harbor Story, 6 candidates submitted nomination papers for the 2 Bar Harbor Town Council seats, and 6 candidates submitted nomination papers for the 5 Warrant Committee Seats.

For the Council, Gary Friedman and Joe Minutolo's seats expire and both have turned in papers. They will be joined on the ballot by Michael Boland, Charles Sidman, Nina St. Germain and Nathan Young.

Charles Sidman is currently suing the Bar Harbor Town Council as a whole and the Council members individually because of their decision not to enforce the cruise ship passenger cap until the 2025 season.

For the Warrant Committee Seth Libby, Meagn Kelly, Kathleen St. Germain, Ezra Sassaman and Bailey Stillman's sets expire. Libby and Sassaman decided not to seek re-election.

Running are Steve Boucher, Brooke  "Zana" Blomquist,  Barbara Dunphey, Gary "Bo" Jennings, Meagan Kelly, and Bailey Stillman.

Marie Yarborough who's seat is up on the Superintending School Committee returned papers and will be on the ballet.

For the MDI High School Board of Trustees, Rob Jordan who's seat is up has returned papers. No one submitted papers for the rest of Joseph Cough's 2-year seat. Cough resigned in February.
