The MDI Girl's Volleyball Team had a good match against Calais on Saturday, winning 3-1.  The girls got off to a slow start, which Coach Corey Papadopoli mostly attributes to first game jitters. They lost a tough first game 28-26 but soon found their rhythm, winning the next 3 by scores of 25-16, 25-15, and 25-13.  They struggled serving early but served better the last three games. The team also saw a big improvement in the hitting now that they've begun to work on it a bit.  They worked well together on the court, communicating and moving quickly to the ball.  It was a lot of fun to watch and they will only get better.  Stat leaders for MDI were:

Sarah Phelps: 18 kills, 6 aces, 7 assists, 2 digs, and 1 block.

Madeline Cook: 10 kills, 11 aces, 18 assists, and 2 digs.

Camilla Tai: 3 aces, 1 assist, and 10 digs.

Deandra Kanu: 2 kills, 3 aces, 1 block, and 4 digs.

Thanks to Coach Corey for providing the information!
