A year ago, the MDI Boy's Basketball Team won their first game of the season against Presque Isle, in Presque Isle. This year, the Trojans closed out the 2015 part of their schedule with a victory over the Wildcats, winning their 5th game, which is as many as they won in the 2014-15 regular season. The game between the Trojans and Wildcats was played with a referee's whistle as the soundtrack, as the officials called a combined 56 fouls!

The score was tied 12-12 at the end of the 1st Quarter. Russell Kropff had 5 points, and Drew Rich had 3 points for the Trojans. For Presque Isle, Kyle Rider had 7 points and Jonah Hudson had a 3-pointer.

The score was tied 32-32 at the end of the 1st Half. Kropff had 10 points for MDI including a 3-pointer, and Riley Swanson had 7 points including 2 3-pointers. MDI was 9-13 from the free throw line in the 1st Half. Johah Hudson had 6 points for Presque Isle including a 3-pointer, and Grant Stewart had 4 points. Presque Isle was 18-25 from the free throw line in the 1st Half.

MDI led 49-43 at the end of the 3rd Quarter.  Swanson had another 3-pointer, and had 5 points in the quarter for MDI. Rich, and Kropff each had 3 points for MDI. The Trojans were 3-8 from the free throw line. For Presque Isle, Rider had 6 points, and the Wildcats went 4-8 from the free throw line.

In the final quarter, Aaron Snurkowski had 7 points for MDI and Graham Good had 6 points. The Trojans were 8-11 from the free throw line. For Presque Isle Hudson had another 3-pointer and the Wildcats went 3-6 from the line. Presque Isle lost Grant Stewart and Kyle Ryder to fouls in the final quarter.

MDI was led by Russell Kropff with 18 points, while Riley Swanson had 14 points. Drew Rich, Graham Good and Aaron Snurkowski all had 8 points. The Trojans were 21-33 from the free throw line.

Presque Isle was led by Kyle Rider with 15 points, Jonah Hudson had 14 points and Grant Stewart had 11 points. The Wildcats were 24-38 from the free throw line.

MDI is now 5-2 and plays at Ellsworth on Wednesday, January 6th at 7 PM in a game that will be broadcast on AM 1370 WDEA and WDEA Internet Radio.

Presque Isle is 2-4 and plays host to Central on Saturday, January 2nd at 4:30 PM.
