The iconic British Red Mail Box is turning gold in the hometowns and villages of Britain's Olympic gold medal winners!  The Royal Mail has vowed to turn one of the distinctive red postboxes gold in the home town of every British gold medal winner.

In some places the painting has become a mini-event in itself, and crowds turned up to watch a mailbox being transformed for Heptathalon Gold Medalist Jessica  Ennis on Sunday, the day after she won gold, in her home town of Sheffield, northern England.

In addition to the golden mailbox, the twenty five gold medalists (to date) will be featured on postage stamps!

I like this! I think this sure beats erecting a billboard on the edge of town and saying (Insert Town Here) home of Olympic Champion (Insert Winner's Name Here) What do you think?
