It was Senior Day on Saturday, January 20th for Ellsworth High School wrestlers Christopher Barnes, Andrew Brown, Peyton Cole and Sam Horne who had a combined career record after Saturday of 204-53.

Peyton Cole, wrestling in the 145 pound weight class pinned all of his opponents, never getting past the 2nd round in a match. Andrew Brown, wrestling in the 160 pound weight class went 3-1 on Saturday, losing only to defending Sate Champion Tyler Been from Dexter High School. Barnes, wrestling in the 195 pound class finished the day at 2-1. Sam Horne did not wrestle in the meet. Freshmen sensation Landon St. Peter dominated the 106 pound weight class, with 4 victories. Kyle Gillespie won all of his matches in the 132 pound B group.

Other Ellsworth wrestlers participating were Audrey Ward (120 pounds), Everett Huckins (126 pounds), Noah Hughers (152 pounds) and Chuck Hughes (182 pounds). Independent wrestlers wrestling with Ellsworth were Oakley Dugas (120 pounds) from Bangor Christian, and Jacob Emery and Jared Smith from John Bapst Memorial High School.

A total of 13 teams competed in the round robin competition with 228 matches wrestled. During the competition Foster Ashmore from Bucskport High School and Elias Miller from Medomak High School won their 100th career matches.
