Welcome Officer Smith

Congratulations to Officer Brady A. Smith who graduated Friday, May 19, 2017 from the Maine Criminal Justice Academy as part of the 32nd Basic Law Enforcement Training Class. Officer Smith was sponsored by the Town of Bar Harbor, and will begin work for the Bar Harbor Police Department.

Officer Smith is 25 years old and originally from Brewer but has ties to the Island as he spent all his summers in Northeast Harbor.

He graduated from Eastern Nazarene College in Quincy, Massachusetts in 2015 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Crime, Law and Justice.

He joined the Bar Harbor Police Department in May, 2015 working as a dispatcher until May, 2016 when he was hired as a full time patrol officer. He has been working on the road since July, 2016.

He has been at the Academy since January 17th, and was in the same class as Levi Soper who graduated and has joined the Southwest Harbor Police Department.
