The Maine Department of Environmental Protection has issued a Air Quality Alert for Thursday, May 18th for All Coastal Regions Including Acadia National Park

According to the Maine Department of Environmental Protection, ground level ozone concentrations will climb and are expected to reach unhealthy levels along the entire Coast of Maine from Kittery all the way up to Acadia National Park.

The Maine Department of Environmental Protection recommends that individuals consider limiting strenuous outdoor physical activity to reduce the risks. Those who are very young, the elderly and those with pre-existing respiratory problems such as asthma and/or heart disease may be especially sensitive to the effects of elevated pollutants.
