Two students from Maine Maritime Academy were sent to the hospital after an accident in Orland Wednesday.

20-year-old Riley Jorgenson of Vienna, Virginia was driving the vehicle on the Castine Road, when he lost control at around 6:30 Wednesday evening. WABI-TV reports he was taken to the hospital to be checked out, while his passenger, 20-year-old Cole McDaniel of Eliot, Maine suffered a head injury.

Police say it appears speed was a factor in the accident. Both men were wearing their seatbelts.

The accident remains under investigation.
