Trojans Tame Wildcats 63-46 [Box Score/Recap/Photos]

The MDI Trojan Boys Basketball Team beat the Presque Isle Wildcats 63-46 in Bar Harbor on Saturday afternoon, January 27th 63-46 avenging their loss in Presque Isle on December 28th.

MDI jumped out to a 15-10 lead at the end of the 1st Quarter. Finn McConomy had 5 points with a 3-pointer, Derek Collin and Drew Shea had 4 points each and Andrew Phelps had 2 points for the Trojans. For Presque Isle Griffin Guerrette had 6 points and Jonah Hudson had 4 points.

MDI outscored Presque Isle 14-10 to take a 29-20 lead at the end of the 1st Half. Shea, and Owen Mild had 4 points each for the Trojans. Phelps, McConomy and Eli Parady chipped in 2 points each for MDI. Guerrette scored all 10 points for the Wildcats, hitting 2 deep 3-pointers.

MDI continued to outscore Presque Isle, in the 3rd Quarter 14-10 to take a 43-30 lead at the end of the 3rd Quarter. Collin had 6 points, Dane Vanzura 4 points and Mild and Phelps 2 points each for MDI. For Presque Isle, Guerrette and Caleb Wheaton each had a 3-pointer and Hudson and Trace Cyr each had 2 points.

In the 4th Quarter, MDI outscored Presque Isle 20-16 as the Trojans went 6-8 from the free throw line. Collin had 11 points, McConomy 6 points, Brett Duley 2 points and Owen Mild 1 point. For the Wildcats Guerrettee had 7 points with his 4th 3-pointer. Cyr had 4 points, Hudson had a 3-pointer and Jack Bonville had 2 points.

MDI was led by Derek Collin with 21 points and Finn McConomy had 13 points. The Trojans were 8-10 from the free throw line.

Presque Isle was led by Griffin Guerrette with a game high 26 points. The Wildcats were 6-9 from the free throw line.

MDI now 11-2 plays host to Hermon on Tuesday, January 30th with the tip-off at 7 PM in a game that will be broadcast on AM 1370 WDEA, WDEA Internet Radio, on our free downloadable APP and on any Alexa enabled device with the pregame starting at 6:45 PM.

Presque Isle, 10-4 plays host to Orono on Monday, January 29th with the tip-off at 5:45 PM.
