The MDI Trojans Baseball Team traveled up to Presque Isle on a bright, sunny Saturday and came away with a doubleheader sweep, winning 4-3 in game 1 and 10-1 in game 2.

In the 1st Game Seth Clark pitched a complete game for MDI, allowing 3 runs, all earned, on 4 hits while striking out 11 and walking just 1.

For Presque Isle Nick Bartlett had a double and Jonah Hudson, Brad Kinney and Robert Gross had singles.

Presque Isle's Adam Paterson pitched 5.1 innings allowing 4 runs, 3 of which were earned on 4 hits, while walking 2. Connor DeMerchant pitched the final 1.2 innings allowing no hits and walks and striking out 1.

For MDI Mac Shea had 2 doubles, while Drew Shea and Nick Stanley had singles.

In the 2nd Game Andrew Kennedy pitched a complete game for MDI. He struck out 2, didn't walk anyone and allowed only 1 hit, a double to Nick Bartlett. He faced only 22 Wildcats in picking up the win!

In the 2nd game, the Trojans batted around in the 6th inning, scoring 4 runs. They also scored 2 runs in the 2nd inning, 1 in the 4th and 3 runs in the 7th inning.

Every MDI hitter had at least 1 hit in the 2nd game! Stanley Grierson had 2 singles, Alden Fournier had a single, Nick Stanley had a single, Drew Shea had 2 singles, Riley Swanson had 2 singles, Mac Shea had 3 singles, Matt Perconti had a single, James McConomy had a single and Aaron Snurkowski had a single.

MDI is now 4-5 and will play John Bapst on Wednesday, May 17th at 4:30 PM.

Presque Isle is 3-6 and will play at Fort Kent on Wednesday, May 17th at 4 PM.
