Trojan Softball Tops GSA 20-1 Snapping 3 Game Losing Streak
The MDI Softball Team snapped their 3 game losing streak beating George Stevens Academy in Blue Hill on Thursday, May 17th 20-1 in a mercy rule shortened game.
The Trojans scored 5 runs in the 3rd and 4th inning and then 10 in the 5th. GSA scored their lone run in the bottom of the 4th inning.
Lindsey McEachern was 4-4, with 4 singles. Mackenzie Dyer was 4-5 with a double. Madison Thornton had 3 hits with a double.Hannah Chamberlain, Maddie Neal, and Hannah Hanscom each had 2 hits. Hanscom had a double. Maddie Jones, Ruby Brown and Emily York had a hit. Hanscom had a double. Olivia Harper had a stolen base and McEachern had 3 stolen bases.
McEachern pitched a complete game for the Trojans, allowing just 2 hits and 1 earned run. She struck out 10 and walked 2.
Sophie Peasley pitched the game for GSA. She allowed 20 hits, 18 earned runs and struck out 2 while walking 7.
Mallory Charette and Heather Munroe each had a single for GSA.
MDI now 7-5 plays host to Belfast on Wednesday, May 23rd at 4:30 PM.
GSA 1-10 plays at Dexter on Friday, May 18th at 4:30 PM.
