Thunder Hole and Sand Beach Access Closed Due to Dorian

Rangers have closed access to Thunder Hole and Sand Beach in Acadia National Park effective Friday night, September 6th because of the impact of approaching Tropical Storm Dorian.

There is a High Surf Advisory in effect from 8AM on Saturday September 7th until 2 AM on Sunday the 8th.

In addition there is a Tropical Storm Warning

The National Park service advises that additional closures may occur as the weather warrants including Ocean Drive and Schoodic Point
