I absolutely hate cancer! The reverse is that I love the Island Community and how they band to gather together and help one of their own when they are in need. It's one of the things that makes Island living so special. I have long said that the best thing about Maine is "Mainers taking care of Mainers and those they love".

Dan Clark, the wife of Robyn Clark, and father to Andrew and Emily has just been diagnosed with stage 4 metastatic colorectal cancer. Robyn and Dan are the owners of the Mount Dessert Bakery, on Cottage Street in Bar Harbor

Dan has been a coach, a lobster fisherman and a general all-around good guy. No one has a bad word for him

As a 2-time cancer survivor, beating cancer is a full-time job for not only the patient but for the family. Trips to Bangor for chemo and radiation, and there is the fatigue involved. Tough to fish when you're battling cancer, and tough to run a Bakery when you're running your loved one up to Bangor.

A gofundme account has been established to benefit the Clark family. If you are able to donate, I would ask that you do so. Say a prayer for the family. Prayer is a powerful weapon in beating cancer.
