Still Resisting
On January 29, 2017 a group of Mainers gathered on Sand Beach in Acadia National Park to write in the sand the word "Resist". The picture went around the world. They gathered again Sunday morning, January 21st to write on Sand Beach again, this time the words "Still Resisting".
January 21st's protest on the sand was especially more poignant given the government shutdown and the fact that Acadia National Park's rangers and maintenance staff are not able to provide basic services such as snowplowing, answering questions or responding to emergencies because of the government shutdown.
