There's nothing more frightening for a pet owner than to have your loved pet go missing. But having your pet chipped with your information greatly increases the chance of your lost pet being reunited with you!

When Animal Control Officers find a lost dog or cat, one of the first things they do is to try and scan the back of the pet, and see if there is a microchip with the owner's information. Unfortunately, many pet owners have not had their pet chipped because of the cost.

The SPCA of Hancock County will be offering FREE microchip services May 25-31 between Noon and 4 at their location at 141 Bar Harbor Road in Trenton.

Inserting a microchip is a painless procedure, and takes less than a minute.
