Enjoy the warmer temperatures this afternoon, albeit with rain, because we have snow, sleet and freezing rain and colder temperatures coming out way.

The National Weather Service in Caribou has issued a Winter Storm Warning for Downeast Maine from 10 p.m. tonight, Thursday, February 3rd through 10 p.m. on Friday, February 4th.

We can expect sleet, rain and snow this evening then freezing rain with some snow after midnight. Temps will be cooler tonight down into the 20's.

Tomorrow, Friday, we can expect, snow, sleet and freezing rain in the morning. Ellsworth is looking to receive 8-12 inches of snow with Bar Harbor receiving 6-8 inches. The greater Bangor area is on the hooks for 12-18 inches.

There are 2 big differences between this storm and last Saturday's. First there won't be the high winds we received last week. Friday winds will  be 15 to 20 miles per hour with gust up to 30 miles per hour. But, the snow will be much heavier to lift. It won't be the fluffy snow, this will be heavy with lots of water content.

That means the snow removal will be more difficult. It is imperative that you be careful when shoveling. February is Heart Month. Please  watch the below video I did with Sarah McEachern from February 2015 with some safe shoveling tips.
