When you go outside in the winter and your feet get wet it's pretty uncomfortable and you can't wait to come inside and change your socks. Now imagine you're homeless and don't have a pair of dry socks to change into, and you're forced to stay in those wet cold socks.

That's why Seaboard Federal Credit Union with branches in Bucksport, Ellsworth and Hermon are collecting new socks through December 15th, with the goal of collecting 1000 pair. All the socks will be given to the Emmaus Center in Ellsworth, the Bangor Homeless Shelter and the Shaw House in Bangor.

Just drop the new packages of socks in the box at the credit union's branches or The Grand in Ellsworth and the next time you change your socks, you'll have the warm feeling in your heart that someone less fortunate will be able to do the same!
