Route 3 Construction Update Week Ending March 31st
The good news... The weather has taken a turn for the better with Tuesday and Wednesday temperatures hitting 50 degrees! The bad news... Work has commenced again on the Route 3 Bar Harbor Corridor!
Here's what is planned for the rest of the week, through Saturday March 31st.
The contractor will be working in the areas stated below for the week:
- Working on the water line tie-ins near Days Inn
- Working near Eden Street intersection on water lines
- Utility companies will be working from Crooked Road to Eagle Lake Road splicing new wires
As always, you are asked to be mindful of the construction workers and to follow the direction of the flaggers.
Representative from the Maine Department of Transportation will be hosting an open house regarding the Bar Harbor Route 3 Corridor Improvements on Monday, April 9th from the Bar Harbor Town Office from 3 to 6 PM. This is the rescheduled date from the original meeting that was snowed out.
MDOT representatives as well as the current contractor, Sargent Construction will be available to discuss the project, including the accomplishments in 2017, and what is planned for 2018 including a new detour route.
Questions or concerns may be addressed to the Maine DOT Project Manager Rhobe Moulton at rhobe.moulton@maine.gov or Emory Lovely at emory.lovely@maine.gov
