Route 3 Construction Update Week Ending April 7th
Work is ramping up on the Bar Harbor Route 3 Corridor. Here is the work plan for the week ending Saturday, April 7th.
Here's what is planned for the week ending April 7th. Work is weather dependent. .
The contractor will be working in the areas stated below for the week:
- Working on water lines near Days Inn
- Working on water lines from West Street to Cottage Street
- Working on placing new drainage pipes at Ocean Avenue and the Acadia National Park entrance
- Utilities will be taking down old poles and wires from West Street to Eagle Lake Road and slicing new wires at Eagle Lake Road
As always, you are asked to be mindful of the construction workers and to follow the direction of the flaggers.
Representative from the Maine Department of Transportation will be hosting an open house regarding the Bar Harbor Route 3 Corridor Improvements on Monday, April 9th from the Bar Harbor Town Office from 3 to 6 PM. This is the rescheduled date from the original meeting that was snowed out.
MDOT representatives as well as the current contractor, Sargent Construction will be available to discuss the project, including the accomplishments in 2017, and what is planned for 2018 including a new detour route.
