Red Sox Fall to the Yankees 8-1

The Boston Red Sox fell to the New York Yankees 8-1 on Friday night, as former Red Sox Alex Verdugo went 3-5, driving in 4 runs, including a 2-run homer in the 1st inning. The loss dropped the Red Sox to 35-35, back to .500 for the 18th time this year. Meanwhile the Yankees became the 1st team in the Majors to reach 50 wins, with a 50-22 record.

Brayan Bello went only 4.2 innings, allowing 6 hits and 5 runs. He struck out 5 and walked 3.
