Speed and power! The Boston Red Sox hit 2 home runs and stole 5 bases Wednesday night, as they beat the Toronto Blue Jays 7-3 to sweep the 3-game series.
It was Boston's 4th series sweep of the season, and 5th win in-a-row. The Red Sox are now 40-35, 5 games over .500 and only 1 game out of the 3rd and final wild card playoff spot.
Enmanuel Valdez hit his 6th home run in the 4th inning, a solo homer. He went 2-3, scoring 3 runs.
Jarren Duran hit his 6th home run of the season in the 5th inning. He finished the night 2-5, stealing 2nd base twice. He has 19 steals this season.
David Hamilton, batting 2nd was 2-5, with a run batted in. He stole 2nd base and now has 20 steals on the season.
Romy Gonzalez playing centerfield was 1-4 stealing both 2nd and 3rd base. He has 4 steals on the season.
On the mound, Brayan Bello went 6.0 innings, allowing 7 hits and 2 runs. He struck out 6, walking 2 to improve to 7-4.
Chris Martin coming off the injured list on Wednesday, pitched the 9th inning and had a fantastic play.
