Things looked ominous for the Boston Red Sox and Doug Fister after the 1st batter for the Cleveland Indians, Francisco Lindor hit a lead-off homer to tie the score 1-1 on Tuesday night, August 22nd. But Red Sox faithful didn't have to worry for the rest of the night, as Fister pitched a complete game, and didn't allow another hit, as the Red Sox beat the Indians 9-1.

Fister struck out 6, walked 2 and improved to 3-6 on the season.

Jackie Bradley Jr. was 2-3 scoring 2 runs. He hit his 14th homer of the season, but had to leave the game after injuring his thumb scoring in the 7th inning. He's scheduled to have a MRI on Wednesday, back in Boston.

Eduardo Nunez batting lead-off was 2-5 driving in 5 runs. He hit his 9th home run for the Red Sox in the 8th inning, a 3 run shot.

Hanley Ramirez and Xander Bogaerts each had 2 hits. All together Boston batters had 12 hits on the night.

Boston is now 4.5 games ahead of the 2nd place New York Yankees. The Red Sox and Indians will play the 3rd game of the 4 game series Wednesday night with the pregame starting at 6:25 and 1st pitch at 7:10 on AM 1370 WDEA. Drew Pomeranz is scheduled to start for the Red Sox.
