Red Sox Beat A’s 7-3 for the Sweep
The Boston Red Sox beat the Oakland A's on Wednesday afternoon, May 1st 7-3 to complete the 3 game sweep and improve their record to 14-17.
Marcus Walden threw 3 scoreless innings of relief to pick up the win. He is now the team leader with 4 wins. This season he has an ERA of 1.65. Brandon Workman has proven to be a stalwart out of the bullpen, pitching another inning. He has only allowed 2 hits facing 52 batters this season.
Mitch Moreland hit another homer, this time a solo shot in the bottom of the 4th. He now has a team leading 9 home runs and leads the team with 19 RBI's.
Tzu-Wei Lin starting at short, replacing Xander Bogaerts (scheduled day off) was 2-4 with a double and a run batted in.
Rafael Devers was 2-4 and now has a 7 game hitting streak.
