Recap of Ellsworth – Houlton Football Scrimmage August 20

The Ellsworth Eagles Varsity Football team played Houlton in their first controlled scrimmage last night. Here's a recap of the scrimmage from Ellsworth Head Coach Duane Crawford:

"This was a controlled scrimmage 10 plays and a drive for each team then repeating.  We went from 5 – 6:30 so everyone got plenty of playing time.  Both teams were a little rusty but after the first drive, for each team, the kinks got worked out and both sides of the ball looked a little smoother.  No formal scoring.  Pretty much a glorified practice but one that was much needed.   It gave us some areas to look at and got the players use to some live contact.  All in all an excellent first outing. "
