P.J. Keenan Selected New Ellsworth Area Chamber of Commerce Executive Director
A familiar name and face will become the new Ellsworth Area Chamber of Commerce Executive Director on June 1st. Patricia (P.J.) Keenan will join the Chamber as Executive Director on June 1.
According to the news release
P.J. is a pillar of the community having grown up in Blue Hill attending George Stevens Academy and later the University of Maine at Machias. Her civic leadership role began as a member of the Ellsworth Rainbow Girls, serving as the Worthy Advisor of her local chapter and later, Grand Worthy Advisor of the State of Maine. She has also served as an advisory board member for the local assembly and on the state executive committee. She is also an active member of Eastern Star, having served as Worthy Matron of the Ellsworth Chapter and serving on the scholarship committee. Upon her return to Maine, P.J. spent time in event planning, catering and sales and ultimately settling into business administration for a local audiology office. In her spare time, she enjoys volunteering at the Woodlawn teas, Heart of Ellsworth events, Autumn Gold and at The Grand.
Keenan stated
“I grew up in Maine and while in New York came to realize that my heart has always belonged in Hancock County. I am so proud of our heritage here. I’m proud of where I come from. I am also fortunate to be following in the footsteps of past Executive Directors. These people have been incredible leaders in our community and have forged a path they should be proud of and that I am proud to continue.”
