Kim Swan, a dog lover among dog lovers was the Grand Marshall, and a worthy one at that, during the 2018 4th of July Parade in Bar Harbor, but there were "thousands" of disappointed parade goers when they didn't see Beacon in the Bar Harbor Fire Truck!

96.6 percent of those participating in the poll "Should Beacon Ride in the 4th of July Parade in the Fire Truck" answered that he should! After all, even though it was over 90 degrees in Bar Harbor, the Fire Truck had air conditioning. And look at Beacon, doesn't he look sad after the Chief told him he couldn't ride in the truck on Tuesday.

There were signs out along the parade route looking for Beacon!

Although I was down by the pier setting up,to broadcast on our sister station I-95, 95.7FM,  I thought I could faintly hear the chants of "Justice for Beacon" and "Ride Beacon Ride!" coming from the corner of Cottage and Main Streets

It's hard to believe that this is Bar Harbor's only parade and Beacon wasn't allowed to come. Now, maybe the Chief will let Beacon participate in the Bar Harbor Bed Races on Saturday, November 10th or maybe he will let Beacon be there and greet Santa when he comes to Bar Harbor in December. Or maybe the Chief will just want to stay in the Dog House! Either way #chiefowesBeacon
