MDI Volleyball Defeats Ellsworth 3-0 on Senior Recognition Night [PHOTOS]

The MDI Volleyball Team defeated Ellsworth 3-0 on Monday, October 18th, on Senior Recognition Night in Bar Harbor. The individual set scores were 25-16, 25-20, and 25-17.

• Molly Ritter: 1 ace, 7 kills, 1 dig
• Claire Moore: 2 kills, 4 blocks, 1 dig

• Meredith Cook: 1 ace, 2 assist, 6 digs, 20 receptions
• Susanna Davis: 1 ace, 1 kill, 1 assist, 1 dig

Tonight was MDI's final home game and senior night. Ellsworth played us tough the first time around and we wanted to make sure we played intensely and focused the second time around. I think the girls did a good job tonight keeping the flow of the game in check. Ellsworth did go on a few runs but we always stemmed the flood and then finished out the games strong. Now we're in playoff mode and all the hard work that the team has put in comes in to play now. This team has come a long way and it's fun to watch them play especially when everything is clicking.

MDI finishes the season with a 11-3 record and pending finalization of the Heal Point Standings in 6th place. They will have a bye in the prelim games and play at #3 Cape Elizabeth in the Quarterfinals.

Ellsworth finishes the season with a 7-7 record and pending finaliztion of the Heal Point Standings in 11th place, just missing the playoffs.
