MDI Girls Beat Foxcroft Academy 50-28 [STATS/PHOTOS]

The MDI Girls Basketball Team beat Foxcroft Academy 50-28 on Wednesday December 13, 2017 at Bernard Parady Gymnasium in Bar Harbor. Scoring their 1st varsity points for MDI were Lindsey McEachern and Lily Cook!

The Trojans jumped out to a 19-8 lead at the end of the 1st Quarter but the score was tied at 7-7 with 3:40 remaining in the 1st Quarter when Alexis Clarito went 2-2 from the free throw line to give MDI a 9-7 lead that they never relinquished. In the 1st Quarter Julia Watras had 6 points for MDI, Maddy Candage4 points, Maddy Good 3 points and Lindsey McEachern, Rachelle Swanson and Emily Banks 2 points each. For Foxcroft Academy Cailtin Seavey had 5 points including a 3-pointer and Ainsley Ade had 3 points.

At the end of the 1st Half, MDI led 27-15. In the 2nd Quarter Banks, Watras, Good and Candage each had 2 points for the Trojans For Foxcroft Acadmy Seavey hit another 3-pointer and Ade and Jenna Anderson each added a bucket.

MDI led by 12 at the end of the 3rd Quarter 34-22. Banks had 3 points while Alexis Clarito and Swanson each had 2 points for MDI. For the Ponies Seavey hit her 3rd 3-pointer of the night while Cassidy Marsh went 2-3 from the free throw line and Jenna Anderson had 2 points.

In the 4th Quarter MDI held Foxcroft Academy to only 6 points while scoring 16. Lindsey McEachern drained 2 3-pointers, Candage added 4 points, Alahna Mild had 3 points, Lily Cook 2 points and Alexis Clarito 1 point for the Trojans. For Foxcroft Academy Ade had 4 points including a 3-pointer and Seavey had 2 points.

MDI was led by Maddy Candage with 10 points while Lindsey McEachern and Julia Watras each had 8 points. The Trojans were 10-18 from the free throw line.

Foxcroft Academy was led by Caitlin Seavey with a game high 13 points while Ainsley Ade had 9 points. The Ponies were 4-10 from the free throw line.

MDI is now 2-0 and will play host to Oceanside Saturday afternoon December 16th at 3:30 in a game that will be broadcast on WDEA Internet Radio, on our Free Downloadable APP , on any Alexa enabled device and on AM 1370 WDEA with the pregame starting at 3:15 PM

Foxcroft Academy is now 0-2 and will play host to Hermon on Wednesday December 20th at 7PM.
