MDI Football Coach Mark Shields joined WDEA's Chris Popper on Friday afternoon as the MDI Trojans were getting ready to host the Oceanside Mariners in a Class C North Semifinal Game tonight, November 3rd.

Coach Shields talked about the importance of ball possession and not turning the ball over tonight,on a field that is expected to be wet, and with a windy forecast. Coach Shields talked about the necessity of containing Oceanside's Michael Norton. He told us about what the team had worked on this week, concentrating on special teams. Then Popper stumped Shields when he asked him which of the MDI Captains normally called the coin toss and what they called!

Finally Coach Shields spoke about the absolute necessity of having a big, loud crowd to be that 12th man for the team!

The MDI-Oceanside game will be broadcast on AM 1370 WDEA and WDEA Internet Radio on Friday, November 3rd starting at 6:40 PM with the opening kickoff at 7 PM. The game may also be heard on our free downloadable APP from the APP Store sponsored by First National Bank.

The MDI Coach’s Show every Monday and Friday is sponsored by L.S. Robinson Insurance.
