MDI Boys Fall to Foxcroft Academy 53-46 [PHOTOS]

The MDI Trojans trailed the entire game, getting as close as 3 points in the 3rd Quarter, as the Foxcroft Academy Ponies beat the Trojans 53-46 in Dover-Foxcroft on Tuesday, December 11th.

Foxcroft jumped out to a 12-2 in the 1st Quarter, with MDI's Porter Isaacs scoring their only basket with 1:20 remaining in the 1st Quarter. Foxcroft Academy scored 3 3's in the 1st Quarter, one each by Logan Martin, Jed Dean and Lucas Ames. Hyatt Smith had 2 points and Jeremy Richard was 1-2 from the free throw line.

In the 2nd Quarter MDI outscored the Ponies 17-15, as Foxcroft Academy led 27-19 at the end of the 1st Half. For MDI Derek Collin had 7 points, Drew Shea drained 2 3-pointers and Erik Merchant had 2 points. For the Ponies, Smith had 9 points with a 3-pointer. Richard had 4 points and Martin was 2-2 from the free throw line.

In the 3rd Quarter, MDI got within 3, before Foxcroft Academy made the lead 9 points, 37-28. Foir MDI Shea had another 3-pointer, Eli Parady 4 points and Merchant 2 points.

In the 4th Quarter Foxcroft Academy was 14-22 from the free throw as MDI was forced to foul. Richard was 7-10 from the free throw line and Smith was 5-8. Ames was 2-2 and Martin had 2 points, the Ponies lone field goal. For MDI, Shea had 2 more 3's to finish with 5 3's. Collin had 4 points and Merchant and Charlie Parker each had a 3-pointer.

MDI was led by Drew Shea with 15 points and 5 3's. Derek Collin had 11 points. MDI was 3-0 from the free throw line.

Foxcroft Academy was led by Jeremy Richard with a game high 17 points while Hyatt Smith had 16 points. The Ponies were 19-29 from the free throw line.

MDI is now 1-1 and will play host to Oceanside on Saturday, December 15th at 5PM in a game that will be broadcast on AM 1370 WDEA, on WDEA Internet Radio, on our free downloadable APP and on any Alexa enabled device

The Ponies are now 1-1 and will play at Hermon on Tuesday, December 18th at 7PM.
