MDI Boys Beat Old Town 54-49

The MDI Boys Basketball Team picked up a much needed win, beating the Old Town Coyotes 54-49 at Bernard Parady Gymnasium in Bar Harbor on Wednesday, January 15th. The Trojans used a 18-2 2nd Quarter to turn a 14-9 deficit to a 27-16 Halftime lead.

Old Town led 14-9 at the end of the 1st Quarter but MDI took the lead 27-16 at the end of the 1st Half. MDI led 40-33 at the end of the 3rd Quarter.

MDI was led by Porter Isaacs with a game high 21 points while Brady Renault had 15 points. Renault, Maddox Laurendeau and Jack DaCorte each had a 3-pointer. The Trojans were 11-18 from the free throw line.

Old Town was led by Shawn Hoogterp and Bryce Richards, each with 12 points. Hoogterp had 2 3-'s, Matt Seymour and Sam Magoon each had a 3-pointer. The Coyotes were 5-12 from the free throw line.

MDI is now 6-6 and will play at Ellsworth at Katsiaficas Gymnasium in Ellsworth on Tuesday, January 21st at 7 p.m. That game will be broadcast on AM 1370 WDEA, on WDEA Internet Radio, on our free downloadable APP and on any Alexa enabled device with a special pregame starting at 6:30 p.m.

Old Town is 6-6 and plays host to Presque Isle on Saturday, January 18th at 3:30 p.m.
