Man Begins Hike From Mt. Cadillac To Mt. Katahdin For Fallen Heroes
Keep an eye out today for Greg Johnson as he begins his 150-mile journey on foot from the top of Cadillac to the top of Katahdin to honor those Mainers that gave their all for our freedom.
Greg is a member of The Summit Project (TSP), an organization that raises funds and awareness, and "honors our state's newest war casualties and the faithful spirit of all Mainers." This morning he's making his way out of Acadia National Park. His journey northwest should take about 11 days.
Great people like Greg carry Tribute Stones that were given to them by Gold Star families, those that have lost military members to war. When Greg reaches the summit of Mount Katahdin, he'll then place the Tribute Stones there and then write letters to the families, keep the memories of the fallen alive.
So, watch for Greg Johnson during his long journey, and beep your horn and give him the thumbs up!
