World’s Largest Plane Lands in Bangor [VIDEO]
The Anotov Design Antonov An-225 Mriya touched down at Bangor International Airport at 2:26 p.m. on Saturday, April 11, much to the delight of many who crowded along the Odlin Road and Maine Avenue in Bangor.
The plane is scheduled to depart Bangor at 5:10 p.m. en route to Shannon Airport according to FlightAware.com.
This monster plane weighs in at 628,317 pounds, empty. It’s the longest airplane ever built at over 275 feet. The wingspan is 290 feet. Six turbofan engines rocket the aircraft through the sky at a maximum speed of 528 miles per hour.
