Maine's hiking reputation continues to gain traction.

The state is loaded with trails that offer a variety of skill levels and styles. Cliff walks, mountain strolls, walks in the woods, rail trails, and more provide what outdoors enthusiasts truly love a way to get closer to Maine's breathtaking nature.

So just how good are some of Maine's trails? Good enough for one of them to be named as one of the best in country by the popular site, The Travel. In an article posted to the site, one Maine hike was included in its "Ultimate Bucket List" of the best trails in the country. That trail can be found in the iconic Acadia National Park.

The Pine Tree State's golden child is no stranger to being at the top of the charts. The national park is an absolute gem with its amazing hiking, beaches, lakes, water activities, and wildlife. It's also home to one of America's best bucket list hike, the Beehive Trail.

It's no surprise to see the high ranking for this challenging hike. Not only is the trail beautiful, but it's also unique. It has numerous features, rungs, ladders, and tough cliff climbs, with a panoramic landscape that is true Maine perfection.

The popular hiking site All Trails describes the Beehive Trail difficulty as "hard". However, even with its challenging reputation, the trail has a rating of 4.9 out of 5. It features views of Maine's coast, islands, and Acadia's Sand Beach. It's also known as a great trail for birding.

Here is a little from The Travel on why the site selected the Beehive Loop Trail for its "hiking bucket list."

The famous Beehive Loop Trail is one of the best hikes in Acadia National Park and is the ultimate outdoor playground near Bar Harbor, which offers tons to do...This top Acadia trail really does pack a punch with the most beautiful scenery in New England as hikers take the trek to the Beehive summit.
