Maine Police are Looking for a NH Wanted Man Last Seen on MDI

Update: Police arrested Gee without incident Thursday afternoon.

Original story: A man who allegedly stole a car in New Hampshire is being sought by police on MDI after a foot chase.

Why are Maine Police Looking for Him?

Mount Desert Police are asking for the public's help locating Jereme Gee, 50, of Wolfeboro, New Hampshire. Gee is wanted in New Hampshire on charges of unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, theft by unauthorized taking or transfer, driving after suspension, and breach of bail conditions.

Mount Desert Police originally learned about Gee just after 1:00 Wednesday afternoon when members of the Wolfeboro Police Department in New Hampshire called to tell them that he was allegedly driving a stolen vehicle, heading toward Bar Harbor on State Highway 3. Shortly after police officers arrived in the area, they received another call from New Hampshire authorities who told them that the suspect had called them and said that he was in the lobby of a local hotel.

Bar Harbor and Mount Desert Police Officers went to the hotel and found the stolen vehicle and the suspect. As they approached Gee, officials say he fled the area on foot, running into the woods. K9 units tracked him for several miles but were unable to find him. At last report, he remained at large.

What Does He Look Like?

Jereme Gee is described as a white male, approximately 6 feet tall, and weighs about 200 pounds. When he was last seen, he was not wearing a shirt, but was wearing jeans, a ball cap, and sneakers. The last time he was spotted, he was in the area of Crooked Road and Old Norway Road.
