Pedestrian Struck By a Vehicle on Main Street in Ellsworth, Maine

A pedestrian was struck by a vehicle on Main Street in Ellsworth on Sunday.

Ellsworth, Maine Police Say a Transient was Hit By a Vehicle on Main Street

The names of those involved have not been released.

Officials say the pedestrian is a 59-year-old male transient and the driver is a 58-year-old Ellsworth woman.

Ellsworth, Maine Police are Investigating a Pedestrian-Vehicle Crash

Ellsworth Police say it was approximately 8:30 am when first responders from the Ellsworth Police and Fire Departments received a report of a motor vehicle crash involving a vehicle and a pedestrian in the area of 165 Main Street.

The pedestrian was transported to Northern LIght Maine Coat Hospital for treatment and was later released.

Officials say the driver wasn't hurt.

Ellsworth, Maine Police Say a Pedestrian Stepped in Front of a Vehicle on Main Street

An investigation by the Ellsworth Police determined the pedestrian allegedly stepped into the path of the vehicle.

The pedestrian was not in a crosswalk and there was no pedestrian crossing signal in that area.

Officers observed that the pedestrian may have been under the influence.

No charges are pending, at this time, but the investigation is ongoing.
