High Wind Advisory and Coastal Flood Advisory Friday March 2nd-3rd
People living in Coastal Hancock and Washington Counties including Ellsworth, Bar Harbor, Bucksport, Castine, Eastport, Machias and Cherryfield should be aware that there are weather advisories in place today Friday March 2nd extending in to tomorrow Saturday, March 3rd.
There is a wind advisory in effect from 9 AM Friday to 4 AM Saturday with winds expected to be blowing from the Northeast 25 to 35 miles per hour with gusts up to 50 miles per hour. These gusts could bring tree limbs down and a few power outages may result.
A coastal flood advisory remains in effect from 9 PM Friday to 1 PM Saturday March 2nd into the 3rd.
Areas impacted include Acadia National Park, the Schoodic Point Peninsula, Lamoine Beach, Castine, Roque Bluffs State Park and Quoddy Head State Park. The flooding impacts are expected within 2 hours of the high tides. High tides in Bar Harbor happen at 10:45 AM Friday, 11:15 PM Friday and then Saturday March 2nd at 11:35 AM
