Today is Wednesday November 18th and there are just 8 days until Thanksgiving on November 26th! On Monday  I started my daily posts of favorite foods, traditions and helpful hints leading up to Thanksgiving. Monday it was the recipe for Brandied Cranberries. Tuesday I shared a fantastic, easy dessert... Pistachio Chocolate Chip Bundt Cake! Today, I want to share something I practically grew up on as a teen, Heart Burn Cheese!

Growing up in Bermuda, my father was the General Manager of the Sonesta Beach Hotel, and he and my mother used to host cocktail parties at our house every Friday night for returning guests and VIP's. We always served Heart Burn Cheese, in a hollowed out red cabbage,  and I remember eating it for breakfast on toast over the weekend, as it seemed like we always had some in the fridge Thursday - Tuesday. This is incredibly easy to make, as you just have to toss all the ingredients into a mixing bowl and mix well and refrigerate! It does have a little kick, but you can reduce the red pepper or increase it depending upon your taste!

Heart Burn Cheese

1 lb. grated sharp yellow cheddar cheese
8 oz. cream cheese
1/2 tsp. red pepper
4 Tbs. chopped onion
3 Tbs. mayonnaise
1 Tbs. worcestershire sauce
Mix well and refrigerate
