Hall of Fame Running Coach Gary Allen Steps Down at MDES

For the 1st time in over 13 years, the Mount Desert Elementary Mustangs won't have Coach Gary Allen leading their cross country team. Runner's World has described Allen as "one of running's most creative mind"s and race directors"

Allen is the Founder and Director of the MDI Marathon, and Millinocket Marathon as well as the co-Founder of the Great Cranberry Island Ultra Marathon which was held annually from 2007-2013. He is the co-Founder of the Crow Running Club. To say that he has touched the lives of  thousands of runners is an understatement.
