Graves Named Bar Harbor Town Clerk

At the Tuesday, May 18th Town Council meeting, the Bar Harbor Town Council appointed Liz Graves the new Town Clerk. She replaces Sharon Linscott who resigned on April 23, 2021

Liz was appointed Deputy Town Clerk in Bar Harbor on, September 10, 2020.

Prior to becoming Deputy Town Clerk, Graves worked at the Mount Desert Islander since 2013.  She  covered sports and maritime topics as well as the Bar Harbor beat including government and police. She was the managing editor from August 24, 2017 through the end of 2019.

She has won Maine, New England and national newspaper association awards for news, editorial and arts writing, as well as for photography and video.

Graves is married to Art Gowie and they live in Bar Harbor.
