This years theme for 'Fright at the Fort' is "Water over the Damned" and they are currently taking applications for all those interested in giving others a good scare!

Thousands of people attend multiple nights of Fright at Maine State Historic Site, Fort Knox. This fort is spooky enough when it is empty, but when it comes alive for Fright Night something to fear lurks around every corner.

This event is funded and run by the Friends of Fort Knox who have worked hard to put on a great event since 1999! But not without help from volunteers! That's where you come in.

Fright at the Fort dates are as follows:

  • Saturday, 10/17
  • Friday, 10/23
  • Saturday, 10/24
  • Friday, 10/30
  • Saturday, 10/31

The event will run 5PM-9PM each night.

Volunteers are needed for 3 different positions for at least 2 of the event nights.

Want to dress up and do your best to haunt an area of the fort? You would be best suited to volunteer to SPOOK.

If you are more of a leader maybe you would be better as a TOUR GUIDE leading groups through the fort.

Don't feel like dressing up but still want to be part of the fun? MONITORS are needed as well to ensure a safe, yet scary experience.
