On Tuesday, May 14th, Governor Janet Mills ordered the flags to flown at Half-Staff in honor of National Officer's Memorial Day and Police Week, observed this week.
In a release Governor Mills said "Maine women and men in uniform defend our right to peace and safety every day, and many have given their lives in pursuit of that noble cause. While we can never fully repay them for their service and sacrifice, we can honor their dedication and commitment to our state,. On behalf of the people of Maine, I express my deepest thanks to every member of our law enforcement community and their families."
