If you want to get up early on Saturday, January 1st and celebrate the arrival of 2022 and a good riddance to 2021 we have good news for you! You'll actually be able to sleep in a little!

Sunrise in Bar Harbor on January 1, 2022 is at 7:07 a.m.

While you can't drive up to the top of Cadillac Mountain in Acadia National Park, there are many great spots Downeast to view the sunrise.

The forecast for New Year's Eve calls for partly cloudy skies with lows in the upper 20's. On New Year's Day,Saturday,  it's supposed to be partly sunny in the morning, then becoming mostly cloudy. There's a 50 percent chance of precipitation with snow and rain, highs around 40.

And while you're at it, don't take any chances! You might want to participate in the old superstition of opening your front and back doors at midnight on New Year's Day. This way you can let the New Year in, while giving the Old Year the bum's rush out the back door. And let's face it, I think we're all ready to say good-bye to 2021!
