At 6:42 AM on Wednesday February 8, 2017 the Bar Harbor Fire Department received a report of a smoke order coming from the assisted living section of Sonogee Estates in Bar Harbor.

Upon arrival the Bar Harbor Fire Department noted smoke coming from the roof vents. As a precaution, all residents of the assisted living wing were moved to the other wing of the facility. Upon entering the facility, the Fire Department discovered a fire in a wall attic space in a non-occupied utility room. The fire was fully extinguished at 7:35 AM

The State Fire Marshall's Office is investigating the cause. According to Chief Matt Bartlett of the Bar Harbor Fire Department, the fire is NOT considered suspicious.
