The City of Ellsworth is increasing the price for a trash bag sticker effective Monday, March 2nd. A trash bag sticker will increase by one dollar and will now cost $4.00 up from 3.00.

Any residents that have the $3.00 sticker may still be able to use them, as those sticker will be honored.

The scale price will increase to $160 per ton, with a minimum 100-pound charge also effetcive March 2nd

In a press release, the City of Ellsworth stated that these changes were necessary to help cover significant increases in disposal and processing costs and ongoing increases in the City of Ellsworth's contract with Casella.

The City of Ellsworth added that ticket sticker and scale pricing have not increased in more than 10 years.
