Ellsworth High School students have been collecting coins and dollar bills to send to Ukraine relief efforts through World Central Kitchens, an organization that is providing meals for refugees in Ukraine and those fleeing to Poland and other countries.

Students were encouraged to bring their donations into the main office and place them in jars bearing the names of teachers. Initially, the idea was that the "winner" with the most money would have to kiss a pig on Tug White Stadium Field in front of the school. But, when the pig proved pig-headed and wouldn't come to the school, they enlisted the help of Maude's Milk Soap in Surry, who brought a pair of baby, 8-week goats.

Flopsie and Mopsie were the cutest little baby goats, with the loudest "baas" you have ever heard!

Now Mrs. Hammer was "kind" enough and offered to take my picture kissing the goats, but I had to explain that I couldn't go home to 250 pounds of Great Danes smelling like goat breath! Elmer and Pebbles would have been extremely jealous, and no one wants jealous Great Danes!

The "winners" were Mr. Cutting with a total of $390.35. In 2nd place was Mr. Gunn with $126.16 and in 3rd place was  Mr. Linders with a total of $103.43. Good sports all, Mr. Gunn and Mr. Linders lip-smacked Flopsie and Mopsie!

Check out the photos! Great job Ellsworth High School and Messers Cutting, Gunn and Linders!
