Ellsworth Girls Varsity Basketball Falls to Hampden 45-23 [PHOTOS]

The Ellsworth Girls hung in with Hampden Academy through the 3rd Quarter, but Hampden used a 11-0 run in the 4th Quarter to defeat Ellsworth 45-23 at Katsiaficas Gymnasium on Tuesday, January 19th.

Hampden Academy led 11-5 at the end of the 1st Quarter. Bella McLaughlin had 4 points while Camryn Neal hit a 3-pointer for 3 points and Megan Dean and Taya Archer each had 2 points for the Broncos. For Ellsworth Morgan Clifford had a 3-pointer for 3 points while Kylie Robidoux had 2 points.

In the 2nd Quarter Hampden Academy outscored Ellsworth 8-5 to take a 19-10 at the end of the 1st Half. McLaughlin had a 3-pointer for the Broncos while Dean and Archer had 2 point while Neal went 1-2 from the free throw line. For Ellsworth Jocelyn Jordan had a 3-pointer, and Morgan Clifford was 2-2 from the free throw line.

In the 3rd Quarter Ellsworth outscored Hampden Academy 11-10 to cut the lead to 8, 29-21. Casey Carter and Morgan Clifford each had a 3-pointer for Ellsworth, while Sierra Andrews and Autumn Paul each had 2 points and Kylie Robidoux was 1-2 from the free throw line. For Hampden Academy Megan Dean and Emma Haskell each had 4 points and Lucy Wiles had 2 points.

In the 4th Quarter Hampden Academy outscored Ellsworth 16-2. Haskell had 5 points with a 3-pointer, Lauren Voteur had 5 points with a 3-pointer, Megan Dean had 4 points and Bella McLaughlin had 2 points for the Broncos. For Ellsworth, their lone points came from the free throw line as Morgan Clifford was 2-2.

Hampden Academy wa led by Megan Dean with a game high 12 points while Emma Haskell and Bella McLaughlin each had 9 points. The Broncos were 1-4 from the free throw line.

Ellsworth was led by Morgan Clifford with 10 points while Jocelyn Jordan, Casey Carter and Kylie Robidoux each had 3 points. The Eagles were 5-11 from the free throw line.
