Ellsworth Girls Defeat Brewer 42-38

The Ellsworth Girls Basketball Team defeated Brewer 42-38 in the opening game of the MDI Thanksgiving Tip-Off Tournament on Friday November 29th.

At the end of the 1st half, Ellsworth led by 10, 19-9 and at the end of the 3rd Quarter, Ellsworth led by 20 points 33-13. Brewer outscored Ellsworth 25-9 in the final quarter to almost snatch the victory from the Eagles.

Ellsworth was led by Morgan Card with 12 points and Emily Berry with 8 points. Ellsworth was 11-27 from the free throw line. Brewer was led by Maddy Bailey with 11 points including 2 three pointers and Megan Libby with 10 points.

Brewer opens the regular season Friday December 6th against Hampden Academy at the Cross Insurance Center at 8 PM. That game will be on 92.9 The Ticket and online at www.929theticket.com. Ellsworth opens the season Friday December 6th at home against Foxcroft Academy at 7 PM.
