The Ellsworth Eagles beat the Brewer Witches Baseball Team 6-5 in an exhibition game on Friday, April 19th on Dawson Curtis' walk-off single in the bottom of the 7th inning.

Ellsworth's 3 pitchers allowed just 1 hit. Brayden King started on the mound and went 3 innings, allowing 1 hit and 3 runs, 1 of which was earned. He struck out 6 and walked 3. Porter Merrill pitched 1 inning, allowing 2 runs, walking 3 and striking out 2. Zach Torrey pitched the final 3 innings, picking up the win, striking out 5 and walking 2.

Thomas Jude was 2-3 driving in 2 runs. Brayden King and Dawson Curtis each had a single.

For Brewer Aiden McCue went 2.2 innings allowing 3 hits and 5 runs, walking 8 and striking out 2. Ayden Barnard pitched the final 3.2 innings allowing 1 hit and 1 run, walking 3 and striking out 2.

Kaiden Morin had Brewer's lone hit, a double.

Ellsworth will open the season at home against Bucksport on Wednesday, April 23rd at 1 p.m.

Brewer will open the season at Oxford Hills on Thursday, April 24th at 11 a.m.
