Ellsworth Eagles Win Thrilling Basketball Game Against Presque Isle

The Ellsworth Boys Basketball Team broke open the game to start the 4th Quarter, going on a 16-0 run and beat the Presque Isle Wildcats 61-50 at Katsiaficas Gymnasium in Ellsworth on Saturday, January 17th.

Presque Isle led 13-12 at the end of the 1st Quarter, as Cruze Casavant scored 11 of Presque Isle's points. Ellsworth took the lead in the 2nd Quarter, and led 27-25 at the end of the 1st Half. The Eagles clung to a 1 point lead at the end of the 3rd Quarter 42-41. But then the Eagles exploded going on a 16-0 run to lead 58-41.

Ellsworth was led by Colby Eaton with 18 points. Jackson Barry had 17 points. Evan Haskell and Bryce Hart each had 9 points with 2 3-pointers. The Eagles were 15-31 from the free throw line.

Presque Isle was led by Kason Bua with 15 points, including 3 3-pointers. Cruze Casavant had 14 points with 3 3's. Nate Tompkins and Josh Harvell each had a 3-pointer. The Wildcats were 8-12 from the free throw line.

Ellsworth is now 10-3 and will host Hermon on Wednesday, January 21st at 7 p.m. That game will be broadcast on WDEA AM 1370 on WDEA Internet Radio, on our FREE downloadable APP and on any Alexa enabled device.

Presque Isle is now 7-6. They will host Old Town on Monday, January 19th at 3:30 p.m.
